Engineers
who build.

P5 Electronics is an embedded hardware and electronic product design studio. We take products from concept through working, tested prototypes — and we do it hands-on.

Our story

P5 Electronics was founded in 2014 in small-town Idaho and moved to Arizona in 2017. The team is small and senior. Kevin Pointer leads the electrical engineering side and has worked in RF hardware and embedded systems since 2000. Heidi Pointer handles PCB design and is an IPC Certified Interconnect Designer. Ryan Pointer is a junior electrical engineer and also an IPC Certified Interconnect Designer. Together we bring over 30 years of combined electrical and PCB design experience.

The firm started as a PCB design service — schematic capture, component libraries, board layout — and has grown into a full embedded hardware and electronic product design practice. Today we take products from concept through working, tested prototypes.

The thread through all of it: we'd rather hand you a tested prototype than a stack of files and good luck. We build the hardware ourselves so problems surface on our bench, not at your factory.

Our approach

[01]

Senior, hands-on

You work directly with the engineers building your product — no hand-offs, no telephone game.

[02]

Build & test, not just design

We assemble and validate prototypes in-house, so problems surface on the bench, not at the factory.

[03]

Production in mind

Every design decision considers how the product will actually get built and sourced down the line.
